So happy I’m busy on Valentine’s Day this year.

It’ll distract me.

In the same way the Nintendo DS helps Patrick forget he doesn’t have any friends.

Although I’ll miss some quality Tumblr.

Anonymous asked: Why do you think people give you so much shit for doing your own thing? I mean, even if some people don’t like your solo stuff, I think they should still at least give you *some* respect for going out on a limb and doing a solo album

Thank you.

Change can be really scary and/or frustrating for people.  I absolutely understand that, but any artist worth a damn shows versatility. All my heroes have definite periods in their careers. Bowie, Prince, MJ, Tom Waits, Marvin Gaye, Miles, Coltrane, Herbie, Picasso, Warhol, Arthur Miller, Chekov, Beethoven, David Lean, Robert Altman, Woody Allen, Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, Jack Lemmon, Alec Guinness, Dali, Nam June Paik; They all tried different things at different times in their careers. Art’s like water…it should flow and take the shape of the situation. If it’s held in one place it’ll stagnate…and stink.
